Villa Almarik

Villa Almarik is beautifully situated on the island of Gili Trawangan, near Lombok, Indonesia. This Island was originally home to just a handful of fisherman, it is enshrined by underwater coral gardens and coated in beautiful tropical blooms and trees. Whether you're seeking to dive some of the greatest sites in Indonesia, snorkel, explore or enjoy relaxing in the sun, Villa Almarik is most definitely the location for you. You will be fed the best of local and international cuisine, shown the best parts of the island both on land and under the sea, spoilt with massages and made sure you have everything you could possibly want and need.

No cars or motors are permitted on the island. The most difficult decision you'll find yourself having to make while you're staying here is whether to walk, cycle or take a horse-drawn carriage along the island's sandy roads.

Villa Almarik is only a short distance from an area bustling with bars and restaurants where you can boogie the night away or simply enjoy the breathtaking vista of the mountains and sea as the sun sets and the skies are decorated and lit up with stars.

Villa Almarik has 20 simply and delightfully decorated cottages. Each one is air-conditioned and has been given a beautiful spacious living area, a terrace and a traditional outdoor courtyard connected to the bathroom. In addition each one also had IDD telephones, satellite television and a mini-bar and is complemented with traditional furnishings. A Balinese bale (elevated lounging area) completes each cottage.

Villa Almarik is noticeably the only resort in Gili Terawangan that provides hot and cold water showers with desalinated fresh water.

A blend of Indonesian and Mediterranean dishes awaits you at the restaurant. Everything is prepared with fresh local produce and we're certain that you'll find the flavours of the island are as incredible as its views. Revel in the breathtaking sunsets as they reveal the beauty of Bali's Mount Agung volcano.

There are in excess of 3,500 marine species living in the reefs and seas of Indonesia. In comparison to the Great Barrier Reef (1,500 species) and Red Sea (600 species), 25 % of all reefs in the world are in Indonesia. The plentiful drop-offs, plateaus and slopes around the Gili's portray a good cross-section of what Indonesia has to offer.

Dive in and be enthralled by a plethora of Turtles, White-tip Reef Sharks, Cuttlefish, Moray Eels, Angel Fish, Ghost Pipefish, Snappers, Mantas, Eagle rays and more.

All the diving sites are situated 5 to 15 minutes boat ride from the dive centre. This means that if you want to go for scuba diving, you really do spend more time in the water rather than on the boat.

Trawangan Dive's boats leave from the beach directly in front of the dive centre and then return to the dive centre at the completion of your dive. Its quick, it’s easy and it's simple.

Around the three Gili Islands (Gili Air, Gili Meno, Gili Trawangan), you will discover in excess of 20 different dive sites and there are new reefs being explored all the time.
