Captain Don´s Habitat

Captain Don’s Habitat Complex was set up by the famous marine ecologist Captain Don Stewart. Every detail was designed with his vision in mind in order to preserve the beautiful surrounding environment. All the accommodation facilities for example have been carefully planned to avoid any harm whatsoever being done to the fragile underwater environment.

Walking around Bonaire Island, you can really appreciate a wide range of flora and fauna, the various plants, trees, and different species of birds, animals and marine world will captivate you.

Captain Don’s Habitat Complex provides you with several types of accommodation for you to choose from. All rooms are furnished in a light island style with air conditioning, cable TV, refrigerator, mini bar, telephone, WI-FI internet acces. There is a super little kitchen with all facilities and also a balcony so you can relax and soak up the atmosphere on your holiday.

You can choose from the following, a bungalow with two bedrooms and two bathrooms which sleep a total of four people, or perhaps an apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a very pretty garden view. There are also the Deluxe Ocean View rooms, with lovely views to the Caribbean Sea, the Villa Studio, the Villa Suites and the Villa Ocean View rooms. All these rooms are provided with an extra bed in case it is needed.

The best dining can be found at the oceanfront. You can try many of the local dishes as well as a good choice from international menu. Breakfast time is from 7am to 10 am, lunch between 11am and 2pm and evening enjoy a la carte at 7pm. A super assortment of cuisine, snacks and drinks is available during the day. Live amusement will entertain you Monday and Thursday throughout the year.

Over 50 of diving sites are within 15 minutes boat ride of the dock. The Diving Freedom works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Scuba diving around Bonaire Island is a must and can be tried by anyone fit enough to do so. Bonaire is the top diving destination in the world, with beautiful waters of Bonaire attracting many divers time and time again throughout the year. Marine Park is the place where you can see splendid corals,colourful fish and the stunning fauna of underwater world.

You must be aware however that it is strictly forbidden by law to touch corals or remove anything from the reef.

All the necessary equipment for scuba diving, as well as instruction is provided and fully at your disposal.
