MY Sheena

The MY Sheena is an authentic Maldivian diving safari vessel offering charters in the southern Maldives. It departs from Medhudushi Island in eastern Meemu atoll.

The transfer by air taxi from Malé airport to Medhufushi takes approximately 40-45 minutes.

The Sheena has a spacious salon, and several decks with either shade or exposure to the sun, the decks are furnished with sun beds and mats. The cabins on the lower deck are furnished with two single beds and are also suitable for single guests and diving buddies. The two cabins located on the upper deck (Owners cabins) are furnished with double beds and are larger, with an area of almost 17sqm.

All 8 cabins have en-suite bathrooms featuring a basin, toilet with a normal flushing system and a fresh water shower. There is also continuous supply of power (220V). In the salon there is also an extra shelf for recharching underwater lights and video equipment.

Meals will be served at the stern, at a large table located outside, but can also be enjoyed at 3 large tables in the spacious salon. A once a week a barbeque is arranged on one of the islands, undoubtedly one of the highlights of every tour on the Sheena! There is a well-stocked bar offering a wide variety of drinks in the salon and on the shaded deck.Tea, coffee and water are available, free of charge, all day.

Per day two to three dives are scheduled and night dives, 1-2 a week. The experienced diving instructors will offer all you could wish for from a diving safari. As usually in the Maldives most of the dives will be drift dives. Planning the route and diving schedule will be based on your requests. Dives will generally be with the current and wherever you surface, you will be collected by the dhoni.

There will be also dives requiring a negative entry and fast descent and sometimes, for a short distance, swimming against the current is necessary in order to reach a particularly interesting part of the reef. This is Classic Maldivian diving at it’s best! To participate in a diving safari on the Sheena, each diver is required to show proof of at least 60 logged dives, and if possible, be in possession of an advanced diving license from an internationally recognized diving organization.

Please note: It is compulsory for each diver to wear a computer, to be in possession of a surface marker buoy, an alternate air source and for the night dives per diver one torch as well as a strobe light per buddy team. All equipment needed can be rent at the dive center in Medhufushi.
