Zabargad Dive Resort

Zabargad Dive Resort is 120km from Marsa Alam airport and just 5 km south of the small Bedouin town of Hamata, transfer from the airport takes approximately 2 ½ hours. The resort has many facilities giving feeling of living in paradise.
The main restaurant in the hotel provides a buffet style breakfast and dinner every day, and occasional themed evenings.

There are both indoor seating and an outdoor terrace area, with panoramic view of the bay. Lunch is available either on the dive boat or at the cafe bar at the dive centre. There is also an elevated beach bar available during the summer, serving drinks and food at sunset.

There are a number of cafes in the resort area, including a cafe on the hill that you can see the sunrise from, a tent cafe near the beach, a barbeque corner near the diving center, an ice cream corner and a bar inside the swimming pool.

Accommodation:

All the rooms are styled in the traditional Moorish style, a domed shaped roof, keeping the room cool in the Egyptian climate. All 55 rooms have two separate beds, shower and sanitary facilities, air conditioning, a small refrigerator, and a private terrace with seaview.

Diving Holidays:

The house reef is full of surprises by day and night. From the south side of the island a sandy slope reaches down to 25m covered in an amazing concentration of coral pinnacles. Each pinnacle looks like a fairytale castle and forms a micro-habitat for tiny reef fish, which spread out like a halo round the brilliantly coloured coral. Larger reef fish cruise around and between the pinnacles. In the sand between them blue spotted and black spotted stingrays and crocodile fish abound and morays can be found. At night many invertebrates, such as cuttlefish, squid, octopus, and nudibranchs are visible, giving the site a character unlike the daytime.

For many, after a day’s diving at Rocky Island this site is viewed as an optional extra which undervalues it.

Boat dives:

One of the two southern most dive clubs in Egypt, the Orca Dive Club is based at Hamata, they have a free shuttle service from the resort to the jetty, about 5 minutes, where their boats depart from. From Hamata a number of famous reefs are easily accessible including Shaab Maksur, Shaab Claudio, Shaab Sataya and Abu Diab. The club is recognised as a top address for scuba diving the unexplored deep south. Orca Divers are located on-site at the resort.
